Refugee Health Promotion Intern (Unpaid)

About the role
The Refugee Health Promotion Intern will support the International Rescue Committee’s effort to improve health and wellness for refugee clients. This unpaid, on‑site position offers hands‑on experience in partnership building, workshop facilitation, and service documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Contact new health‑care providers to establish partnerships and develop a comprehensive service map for IRC clients.
- Lead three client‑focused health‑promotion workshops, tracking attendance and knowledge gains.
- Document services, attendance, and outcomes to support program evaluation.
- Provide transportation for clients using IRC vehicles and offer bus‑training when needed.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled as a BSW or MSW student at an accredited university.
- Completed foundational coursework in generalist social work, health, or wellness.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging diverse populations.
- Comfortable with public speaking and group facilitation on a weekly basis.
- Effective time‑management, organizational abilities, and reliable transportation access.
