Radiation Therapist II (RTT) - $10,000 Sign-On Bonus

About the role

The Radiation Therapist II (RTT) reports to the Radiation Therapy Lead and delivers the technical part of radiation therapy treatments in the Radiation Oncology department. The position is based in Cancer & Blood Specialists of Arizona, with rare travel, Monday to Friday hours from 8am to 5pm.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver radiation treatments according to written prescriptions and treatment plans, ensuring patient safety through consistent use of departmental procedures.
• Identify the correct patient, escort them to the treatment room, assist them onto the table, position them, deliver radiation from the control room and help them exit.
• Document treatment records completely and accurately, report deviations to the Radiation Therapy Lead and/or physician, and explain procedures to patients and families.
• Observe patients for treatment reactions, reinforce education on side effects and non-compliance, and perform patient simulations and data entry into the EMR when requested by the physician.
• Perform and document daily and weekly QA checklists, troubleshoot common quality issues, and capture and verify patient treatment charges.
• Respond to emergencies with first aid and CPR, give emotional support, and hold treatment pending consultation with the radiation oncologist when needed.
• Guide Radiation Therapist I in correct procedure and practice, and comply with federal and state laws, company policies and the department's disaster recovery plan.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Therapy Technology; a BS degree in Radiation Therapy Technology or a related field is preferred.
• At least three years of active experience as a Radiation Therapist.
• Certified as a Registered Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT); dual certification as a General Radiographer or CT Technologist is preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Fluent English; Spanish is desirable.

Required skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read standard imaging and adjust equipment for high-quality treatment.
• Manual quality assurance and quality control checks of treatment delivery.

• Pay range of $43.89 - $64.95.
