Rack & Tool Maker (Welder/Fabricator) - Experienced

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Rack & Tool Maker (Welder/Fabricator) to join our production team in Minneapolis. The role involves fabricating, modifying, maintaining, and repairing metal racks, fixtures, jigs, and tools that support our metal finishing and plating operations. This is a full‑time, on‑site position with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate, modify, and repair metal racks, fixtures, jigs, and tooling used in production processes.
• Perform welding and other metal‑fabrication tasks to meet design specifications.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment in the plating/manufacturing environment.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Department to ensure smooth operation of machinery.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives for tooling systems.
• Adhere to strict security and safety protocols, including OSHA regulations.

Required profile

• Strong attendance record and punctuality.
• Willingness to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to heat, humidity, dust, and noise.
• Ability to follow security protocols (mobile devices locked during shifts).
• Residency in Minnesota or definite relocation plans.

Required skills

• Welding (MIG/TIG/Stick) and metal fabrication.
• Tool making and jig fabrication.
• Maintenance and equipment repair.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Use of hand and power tools.
