Quality Inspector - Field Services

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous Quality Inspector to join our Field Services team at Saronic Technologies in Austin. The role supports Quality Engineers by delivering precise inspection data from on‑site repairs, installations and maintenance of autonomous maritime platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of field service work, repairs, installations and maintenance activities.
• Collect accurate measurements, photographs and technical observations to ensure full traceability.
• Identify defects, non‑conformances and process deviations and document them thoroughly.
• Provide reliable field data to Quality Engineers for root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain comprehensive inspection reports within the company’s quality system.
• Monitor trends, report recurring issues and suggest process improvements.
• Collaborate with service, engineering, manufacturing and quality teams while traveling to multiple sites.

Required profile

• IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 certification (required).
• Strong knowledge of composite materials and repair inspection methods.
• Working understanding of welding processes and weld inspection fundamentals.
• Experience conducting technical inspections in field, manufacturing or service environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills with high attention to detail.
