About the role
Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Quality Inspector A to join its Quality Assurance team at the Columbus, MS manufacturing facility. The role ensures compliance with company policies, FAA and EASA regulations, and performs a range of inspections on aircraft structures, components, and materials.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary, hidden‑damage, in‑process and final inspections of airframes, components, paint, and back‑shop activities, using inspection tools and measurement equipment.
- Perform receiving inspections, approve or reject incoming materials, and record results in SAP.
- Inspect aircraft structures (aluminum, titanium, steel) for cracks, corrosion, and improper assembly, and verify wiring harnesses and electrical terminations.
- Document non‑conformities, create QN/NC reports, and support corrective actions with Quality Engineers.
- Maintain calibration status of measuring and test equipment and execute stock inspections when required.
Required profile
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, FAA/EASA airworthiness directives, and service bulletins.
- Experience with inspection processes in aerospace or similar high‑precision manufacturing environments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in an onsite setting.
Required skills
- SAP for tracking inspection data and material receipts.
- Use of measuring and test equipment for dimensional checks and acoustic tap testing.
- Visual inspection and precision measurement techniques.
- Knowledge of FAA and EASA regulatory requirements.
