Quality Control Laboratory Technician – 12‑hr Shift

About the role

3M is looking for a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to join the Materials Resource Division in Cordova, IL. The role supports product quality, development, and production processes by performing elementary tests and measurements on samples.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct analysis of samples with minimal supervision and report results.
• Support QC lab process‑improvement initiatives and product validations.
• Utilize LIMS and other computer systems for data capture.
• Document all test results and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Participate in quality‑improvement programs and help reduce testing cycle times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED or higher (verified before start).
• At least 1 year of quality‑control technician experience in a private, public, government or military setting.
• Associate’s or technical degree (preferred) and up to 3 years of experience as a chemical operator or lab technician.
• Understanding of measurement systems, testing, and calibration.
• Familiarity with basic quality tools and problem‑solving methodologies (e.g., 7‑step method).
