QA/QC Technician – Oil & Gas (Skillbridge, Active Duty Military)

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an on‑site QA/QC Technician to support drilling and completions operations in Midland, Texas. This Skillbridge position is open exclusively to active‑duty military personnel and offers a dynamic environment with a focus on quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the on‑site customer QA/QC representative, ensuring timely delivery of quality tools for drilling and completions.
• Operate in an on‑call environment with two scheduled weekends off per month.
• Monitor and enforce DS‑1, customer, industry, and vendor specifications on tools and equipment.
• Conduct inspection, assembly, and testing operations, including mill surveillance of drill pipe and casing manufacturing.
• Perform quality audits of rental/specialty tool providers, inspection facilities, machine shops, and rig sites.
• Communicate job progress and issues with Project Managers and produce detailed field reports.

Required profile

• Technical knowledge of DS‑1, relevant API specifications, and industry standards.
• Ability to read, interpret, and enforce inspection, assembly, and testing procedures.
• Proficiency in measuring dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and scales to within 1/64 inch.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of producing detailed technical reports in MS Office.
• Social and emotional intelligence to interact with personnel at all levels.

Required skills

• DS‑1 standard and API specifications (e.g., API 5DP, API 5CT).
• Use of precision measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, scales.
• Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Microsoft Windows operating environment.
• NDT Level II certifications (MP, LP, UT, VT) – preferred.
