Purchasing Associate

About the role

The Purchasing Associate supports SLS Arts' supply chain and product assortment strategies. This position blends everyday procurement tasks with vendor rebate management, promotional planning, and customer‑service performance.

Key responsibilities

• Place, track, and manage purchase orders to keep inventory at optimal levels.
• Monitor vendor lead times, minimums, and terms to ensure cost‑effective ordering.
• Collaborate with warehouse and finance teams to resolve receiving discrepancies.
• Maintain high fill rates and product availability for excellent customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate vendor rebates, promotions, and documentation.
• Evaluate new product lines and potential suppliers with leadership.
• Analyze purchasing data to forecast demand and optimize stock.
• Support university kit programs, special events, and seasonal campaigns.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).
• 10+ years of purchasing or inventory planning experience, preferably in fine‑art wholesale or retail.
• Strong analytical abilities and excellent verbal and written communication.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems.
