Pulmonary Medicine Physician

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a Pulmonary Medicine physician. The role centers on compassionate, patient-centered care delivered in the office, with hospital rounding required.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain timely, accurate and detailed medical records using the center's office-based EMR, E Clinical Works (ECW)
• Prescribe medication or therapy when necessary and recommend lifestyle changes to improve quality of life
• Explain medical procedures and test results thoroughly, and give patients a clear plan of care
• Consult with other doctors about each patient's specific needs
• Take part in tumor boards and multi-disciplinary clinics
• Serve on the hospital Medical Staff and related committees when requested
• Work to improve patient satisfaction scores and team goals, and take part in business development and marketing

Required profile

• MD or DO, board certified or board eligible in Pulmonary Medicine
• New graduates or experienced physicians will both be considered
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make sound decisions independently, and handle physical demands such as lifting patients and equipment (up to 40 lbs pushing/pulling, 50 lbs carrying/lifting)

Required skills

• Knowledge of computer systems and applications, including ECW and Cerner
• Excellent communication skills at all levels

Threshold requirements include annual Joint Commission mandatory education, TB/PPD surveillance program participation, and maintenance of required professional licenses and certifications.
