Public Health Registered Nurse 3 – Georgia DPH

About the role

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) seeks a dedicated Public Health Registered Nurse (PHRN) to provide advanced nursing care in a clinic setting. Under a written nurse protocol agreement, you will conduct physicals, treat patients, and counsel clients while supporting Georgia’s public‑health mission.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care according to established protocols, including triage for HIV medical care.
• Perform patient assessments, draw blood, administer vaccines, and prescribe medication when authorized.
• Manage a caseload of patients, offering case management, education, and referrals.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives such as immunization clinics and health fairs.

Required profile

• Associate degree in nursing, current Georgia RN license, CPR certification, and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience or equivalent experience as a lower‑level PH Registered Nurse.

Required skills

• Experience with eClinicalWorks EHR system.
• CPR certification.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
