About the role

The Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as District Lead and Healthy Home Coordinator for an assigned health district. This position focuses on protecting residents from lead exposure and ensuring compliance with environmental health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct case reviews, home inspections, and risk assessments related to childhood lead poisoning.
• Prepare detailed reports and provide guidance and education to families, healthcare providers, and community partners.
• Coordinate outreach activities, enforce regulations, and act as the district subject‑matter expert on lead‑related issues.
• Travel locally within the district to perform inspections and support community initiatives.

Required profile

• Under supervision, serve as the primary point of contact for lead‑related programs in the district.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
• Willingness to obtain certification as a Georgia Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor within 120 days of hire.
