Project Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems

About the role

Jupiter Power is seeking a Project Manager to lead utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and substation projects. Based in Austin, TX, the role follows a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office and frequent travel to project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall project design, coordinating internal and external engineering resources.
• Develop and maintain the project schedule, host kickoff and close‑out meetings, and drive schedule recovery when needed.
• Lead safety initiatives, ensure Job Hazard Analyses are performed, and reinforce safe work practices.
• Oversee budget, cost forecasting, procurement, and material management.
• Administer contract compliance, review change orders, and manage EPC relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of construction experience with on‑site exposure.
• 3+ years in a supervisory construction leadership role.
• PMP certification and OSHA 30 training are a plus.

Required skills

• OSHA 30 certification.
• Construction drawing review.
• Project scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera 6).
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Lean and Total Quality Management methodologies.
• Contract management, change‑order negotiations, and QA/QC processes.
• Budgeting and cost control.
• Engineering and project management principles.
