Project Manager - Air Quality

About the role

SWCA Environmental Consultants is looking for an experienced Air Quality Project Manager to lead permitting, planning, and modeling projects for clients across the United States. The role is full‑time, salaried, and can be performed remotely or in a hybrid setting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage air‑quality projects, overseeing budgets, schedules, staff deployment, and client relations.
• Prepare and review air permit applications, emissions estimates, and regulatory compliance analyses for power generation, oil & gas, and industrial sectors.
• Develop and submit registrations and documentation to state and local agencies.
• Conduct air‑dispersion modeling reviews and ensure technical QA/QC of reports.
• Create safety plans, identify hazards, and promote team safety.
• Collaborate with SWCA professionals across multiple offices to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support the growth and development of the Air Quality practice.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering, or a BS in environmental or atmospheric science.
• Minimum seven (7) years of consulting experience in air‑quality projects, preferably within power generation, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
