Senior Environmental Inspector

About the role

SWCA Environmental Consultants is building a talent pool of Senior Environmental Inspectors to support upcoming infrastructure, energy and construction projects across the United States. The role involves ensuring environmental compliance for linear construction activities and may include work on federal land, pipelines, renewable energy, mining, habitat restoration and more.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple regular environmental inspections and review daily inspection reports.
• Verify compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations for linear construction projects.
• Supervise installation, maintenance and monitoring of Best Management Practices (BMPs) and erosion control devices.
• Utilize topographic maps, GPS units, aerial photographs and other field tools to assess right-of-way conditions.
• Develop and implement safety plans, identify hazards and ensure team safety on site.
• Coordinate with project teams and clients to address environmental issues and mitigation measures.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental consulting inspections of linear construction projects.
• Proven ability to inspect right-of-way, pipelines and associated facilities.
• Experience with soil erosion control, BMP installation and agricultural mitigation plans.
• Comfort working in remote locations and operating ATVs or four-wheel-drive vehicles.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.
