Project Assessor – Structural Focus

About the role

The Project Assessor (structural focus) leads building assessment projects across the United States, ensuring compliance with ASTM standards and client‑specific scopes. The role involves extensive on‑site work, client interaction, and detailed reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and complete building assessment projects in line with ASTM standards and client scopes.
• Conduct on‑site assessments including property condition, Phase I environmental, asbestos/lead/radon sampling, seismic and structural surveys.
• Communicate with local building, zoning and fire departments to verify compliance and identify violations.
• Prepare detailed written reports with findings, photographs, measurements and cost estimates.
• Travel up to 50 % of the time to client sites across the United States.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least three years of relevant experience (or five years without a degree).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record; Registered Architect or Professional Engineer preferred.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet productivity and quality targets.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ASTM standards and building codes.
• Experience with Property Condition Assessments, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, asbestos/lead/radon sampling, seismic reporting and structural surveys.
• Proficiency in on‑site data collection using computers, tablets and photographic equipment.
• Report writing and cost estimation for repair or replacement of building components.
