Program Director of the True Blue Neighbors Youth Scholars

About the role

The Program Director leads the True Blue Neighbors Youth Scholars (TBNYS) initiative, overseeing staff, volunteers, and program operations at KWE and across the University of Tulsa community. This position ensures high‑quality delivery of out‑of‑school programming for K‑12 youth while fostering partnerships and professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Interview, hire and train staff and volunteers.
• Mentor staff and volunteers to achieve successful program outcomes.
• Maintain program equipment, materials, and physical space at KWE.
• Monitor program food supply, including ordering and pick‑up/delivery.
• Represent TBNYS at special events and projects within the community.
• Lead staff meetings, program evaluations, and document outcomes for funding agencies and academic partners.
• Maintain accurate youth participation records and staff work reports.
• Communicate successes or problems directly to the supervisor and maintain consistent communication with KWE administrators and service providers.
• Develop and sustain partnerships to support program goals.

Required profile

• Computer literate and able to complete administrative duties.
• Knowledgeable about standards of quality for K‑12 out‑of‑school programs.
• Ability to work respectfully with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds.
• Capability to enforce procedures and maintain program consistency.
• Bachelor's degree in social work, education, health, or a related field.
• Preferred: Master's degree and bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish.
