Program Director - Associate Degree Nursing (AASN)

About the role

ACU, affiliated with the fellowship of Churches of Christ, is seeking a Program Director for its Associate Degree Nursing (AASN) program in Waco, Texas. The position is hybrid: remote work is scheduled, but on-site presence in Waco is required for clinical and simulation oversight. It is a non-tenured faculty position. Candidates must be a professing Christian and willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.

Key responsibilities

• Design, review and approve the nursing program curriculum and develop supporting policies and procedures.
• Hire, evaluate and supervise full-time, half-time and adjunct faculty; lead program and faculty meetings and represent the program in Academic Council.
• Manage student affairs and licensure advising, including NCLEX-RN eligibility and Texas RN licensure, and review transfer credits and new student applications.
• Develop and oversee simulation exercises and clinical placements, and oversee clinical placement compliance.
• Maintain curriculum alignment with university, college, Texas Board of Nursing and accreditation standards, and prepare the Outcomes Assessment Report.
• Teach one course and/or clinical section per year, redesign one course per year, and provide faculty feedback.
• Maintain current, unencumbered Texas RN licensure and an ongoing research/scholarship agenda.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Nursing required; a doctoral degree in nursing is preferred.
• Current, unencumbered Texas RN license.
• At least two years of nursing practice experience in the last five years and at least two years of nursing education (teaching) experience.
• Administrative or program leadership experience preferred; evidence of recent research or scholarship preferred.
• Proficiency in APA style and computer literacy.

Required skills

• Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace, Banner, Adobe Sign and Exxat clinical management software.
• An online learning platform such as Canvas or Bridge.
• Training modules in Cybersecurity, Title IX and ADA.
