About the role
Join BASF's North Geismar chemical facility as a Production Operator, working 12‑hour shifts to help manufacture high‑quality chemical products. You will operate advanced control systems, handle material transfers, and ensure safe, compliant production.
Key responsibilities
- Operate processes and equipment using DCS and PLC systems according to procedures.
- Transfer raw materials and finished products to and from vessels, including railway cars, tank trucks, totes, and drums.
- Collect and document process data, interpret results, and make necessary adjustments.
- Assist in troubleshooting process and equipment issues.
- Handle waste streams in compliance with corporate, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in training, development activities, and emergency response as required.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preferred: post‑secondary technical program (e.g., PTEC) or prior chemical operations experience.
- Military experience may be considered equivalent to manufacturing experience.
