Production Line Attendant (2nd Shift)

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a Production Line Attendant for its 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 11:00 PM start/end) in Franklin. The attendant prepares cheese packaging according to customer specifications, company policy and GMPs, keeps accurate records, follows safety measures and helps keep the cheese packaging process efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Package cheese into the desired packaging material and check that each unit meets the price, date, label and packaging on the production sheet
• Maintain compliance with company policies, GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP and H&S, and follow the Safe Quality Food Program
• Identify and report out-of-spec product using the established notification protocol
• Assist with set-up of packaging machinery, date code printers, computers, labels, vat selection and added ingredients
• Read and understand production worksheets, keep the work area clean and organized, and use down time productively
• Box and palletize according to instructions, sanitize lines when needed, enter data on production reports and attend safety and departmental meetings
• Rotate through all positions on the line and perform other tasks as assigned

Required profile

• Able to push, pull and lift 20 to 40 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment with noise, temperature changes and frequent bending, twisting and standing
• Physical lifting up to 40 lbs unassisted frequently, and working with chemicals while wearing PPE
• Can work scheduled hours and required overtime
• Reliable, honest, detail-oriented and punctual, with a commitment to food safety, quality and customer satisfaction

Required skills

• Basic analytical and numerical skills, including simple math in different units of measurement
• Effective communication and teamwork
• Working knowledge of safety methods and procedures
