Production Associate - 1st Shift

About the role

A Production Associate works the first shift at an Ilitch bakery, helping produce baked goods on the production line. The associate is trained to operate the various stations along the line and follows safety, quality and sanitation procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general inspections, refill ingredients and packaging supplies, and carry out other duties assigned during production.
• Follow correct safety, operation, quality and sanitation procedures for equipment at the workstation.
• Ensure quality control in the area of responsibility, including proper assembly, storage, tracking and handling of materials.
• Monitor product quality standards and report defects to the line lead or supervisor.
• Keep tools, equipment and the work area clean and sanitary, and comply with food safety and legal requirements.
• Meet operational throughput standards and product quality requirements, and work toward set goals.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to communicate in English or with a translator.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds; potential exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
