Procurement Manager

About the role

The Procurement Manager leads the university’s purchasing function, overseeing staff and ensuring the acquisition of goods and services aligns with institutional goals and regulations. This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on support to maintain efficient, compliant procurement processes across campus.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee procurement staff and operations, set performance goals, and manage issues.
• Promote a collaborative environment and provide backup support for team members.
• Lead staff development, training, and engagement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Arkansas state procurement laws, university policies, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with campus units and external vendors on procurement activities.
• Participate in Workday process improvements and maintain accurate procurement records.
• Assist the Director in establishing internal procedures and making leadership decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
• At least four years of purchasing experience and two years of supervisory experience.
• Experience with Workday and five years of knowledge of Arkansas procurement regulations.
• Preferred: six years of procurement experience in IT services and five years of progressive supervisory experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong attention to detail.
