Process Engineer II

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Process Engineer II for its Store Support Center. The role leads small to medium subsets of larger projects, planning and aligning tasks and deliverables to move them forward. It designs and enables efficient, effective and repeatable processes in store operations, spending part of the time in stores observing current-state processes to document opportunities. The engineer works cross-functionally to solve these opportunities using the IDOV process, with Agile ways of working, to drive productivity, throughput and improved associate and customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in Agile ways of working, including sprint planning and demos (10%)
• Use analytics to provide insight, interpret results or recommend decisions (20%)
• Partner with key stakeholders to design, test and iterate solutions (25%)
• Lead project teams of process engineers and business partners through Gemba walks, process mapping, root cause analysis and benchmarking (25%)
• Present results and findings through PowerPoint and stakeholder presentations (10%)
• Partner with IT, UX and business teams to deliver scalable solutions to the field (10%)

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• At least 1 year of previous leadership experience preferred; 2+ years of process improvement experience preferred
• Experience with Agile or Kaizen ways of working preferred
• Experience directly or indirectly leading others preferred
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job
• Typically reports to the Process Engineering Manager with no direct reports
