PRN Surgical Technologist – OLGMC

About the role

This position ensures equipment and supply availability for endoscopy and surgical procedures, scrubs for surgeries, assists with endoscopy, and supports the RN as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Organize activities and supplies based on the surgery schedule.
• Provide direct patient care and assist during surgical and endoscopic procedures.
• Communicate patient care information to patients, families, and team members.
• Maintain clinical knowledge, technical skills, and required credentials.
• Adapt to rapid changes in unit census, patient acuity, and resource availability.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program (online programs not accepted) or 5 years of surgical technologist experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques, human anatomy, and surgical procedures.
• Basic analytical skills and proficiency with computers and web‑based applications.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call availability.
