Postdoctoral Fellow in Biomedical Engineering

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Research Department is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the Chao Ma Lab. The position provides practical training in cutting‑edge biomedical engineering research and is expected to be completed within five years.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute independent research projects, generate and analyze data, and prepare manuscripts for high‑impact journals.
• Present research findings at national and international scientific meetings.
• Contribute to grant writing, progress reports, and collaborative project development.
• Assist with lab management, protocol development, equipment maintenance, and mentoring of junior trainees.

Required profile

• PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant scientific discipline; MD with relevant laboratory experience may substitute for PhD.
• Demonstrated commitment to research, strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively.
• Previous experience in a research or academic setting, including scientific writing.
