Postdoctoral Associate – Endocrine Diabetes Research

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to join an NIDDK‑funded project investigating how physical exercise preserves pancreatic beta‑cell function and mass. The role involves designing and executing experiments using mouse models and advanced molecular techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and coordinate mouse exercise training studies, including metabolic phenotyping and glucose homeostasis assessments.
• Isolate pancreatic islets, perform functional assays, and carry out gene and protein expression analyses.
• Integrate multi‑omics datasets to identify exercise‑responsive pathways and contribute to manuscript preparation and scientific presentations.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a life‑science discipline or M.D.
• Demonstrated scientific problem‑solving ability, strong communication skills, and a record of publications.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary research environment.

Required skills

• Experience with mouse models of exercise training.
• Metabolic phenotyping and glucose homeostasis assessment techniques.
• Pancreatic islet isolation and functional assay expertise.
• Gene and protein expression analysis, including multi‑omics data integration.
