Political Science Instructor – Valdosta Campus

About the role

The State of Georgia, through Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, is seeking a Political Science Instructor to teach on the Valdosta campus and, as needed, at partner high schools. The position involves delivering both classroom and online instruction, developing curriculum, and supporting student success.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans for credited arts and sciences courses in Political Science.
• Develop program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives aligned with accreditation standards.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback on assignments and examinations.
• Maintain required documentation, administrative reports, and safety compliance.
• Participate in professional development, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
• Collaborate with students, staff, and other educators on instructional programs.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Political Science (or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Political Science).
• Demonstrated ability to teach both in‑person and online.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to equity and support for underrepresented, minority, and disabled students.

Required skills

• Standard office equipment proficiency.
• Ability to use a college‑owned or personal vehicle for campus duties.
