Policy Scholar – Research & Analysis

About the role

The Texas Public Policy Foundation is seeking a Policy Scholar to conduct high-quality research and quantitative analysis that informs lawmakers and the public. This full-time position works across the foundation’s projects, requiring flexibility and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute original research and quantitative studies on a range of public-policy issues.
• Produce scholarly work aimed at academic publication.
• Educate legislators and the public about research findings.
• Provide formal testimony to local, state, and federal bodies.
• Represent the foundation in media appearances as needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience conducting policy-related research.
• Proven ability to produce top-tier academic research.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical capabilities.
• Flexibility to work with peers across multiple foundation teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, and R.
