Plant Quality Manager – Irving, TX

About the role

The Plant Quality Manager will lead the maintenance and control of the quality testing and reporting system at Sonoco's Irving, TX facility. This role ensures that all quality processes meet customer requirements and drive continuous improvement across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve the plant’s quality testing and reporting system.
• Coordinate, support, train, and facilitate all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Act as the primary contact for customer issues, lead corrective actions, and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
• Manage the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Reduce process variation to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Oversee specifications, test methods, work instructions, and audit processes.
• Maintain accurate quality records and develop best‑practice procedures for all shifts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience developing and maintaining a quality testing/reporting system.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
