Plant Operator

About the role

We are seeking a reliable, safety‑focused Plant Operator to join our biochemical production team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation of our fermentation and purification equipment on a shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the plant daily on a designated shift, maintaining continuous, safe, and efficient facility performance.
• Monitor and control upstream fermentation and downstream purification systems to meet yield and specification targets.
• Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, and initial commissioning/start‑up activities.
• Enforce all site safety protocols, including LOTO, confined‑space entry, and Process Safety Management standards.
• Execute production runs according to SOPs and work instructions, providing feedback for improvement.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and support maintenance actions.
• Document shift data, technical challenges, and equipment status for the Operations Lead.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience in biochemical or specialty chemical manufacturing, preferably in a startup environment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, physically demanding plant setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for shift handovers and reporting.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with upstream aerobic/anaerobic fermentation and aseptic processing.
• Experience with downstream purification systems.
• Ability to read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
• Understanding of plant operations, fluid dynamics, and basic process engineering concepts.
