Planning Analyst – Production & Supply Chain

About the role

The Planning Analyst role at 3M supports production work centers by planning, scheduling, and monitoring output to meet customer requirements. You will collaborate with production planning, lean value‑stream, and operations teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production work centers, monitor output, and improve operational efficiency.
• Procure materials and communicate future requirements to suppliers.
• Coordinate with Production Planning, Lean Value Stream, and Operations teams, participating in Tier processes.
• Analyze customer forecasts, prioritize supply constraints, and balance service, inventory, and cost.
• Manage production lot sizes, cycles, safety stocks, and capacity constraints.
• Maintain compliance with working and non‑working inventory targets.
• Execute standard production planning work using supply‑chain tools and IT systems.
• Provide planning analysis to support data‑driven decisions and lead continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (completed or within one year of graduation).
• Two years of combined experience in supply chain, planning, logistics, or manufacturing in any sector.
• Experience with 3M systems such as Factory Planner, PMCS/IMES, or PeopleSoft is preferred.
