Physical Therapist III – Part‑time

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a part‑time Physical Therapist III to deliver high‑quality rehabilitation services in Miami, FL. This position works within a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, and educate patients according to APTA guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations, set goals, and develop individualized treatment plans for new patients.
• Progress patients through treatment phases while documenting all interactions and outcomes.
• Provide education to patients and families about conditions and home‑care strategies.
• Collaborate and communicate regularly with physicians, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other team members.
• Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants, support staff, and students, including clinical instruction.
• Participate in quality‑improvement and safety initiatives and represent the department at external conferences.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Active State of Florida Physical Therapist license.
• Certification as a Clinical Instructor (CI) with at least 640 hours of student instruction.

• Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health record systems.
• Strong ability to develop and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
