Physical Therapist I – Full‑time

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy seeks a full‑time Physical Therapist I to provide therapy and wellness services to patients in Kendall, FL. The role focuses on restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, and preventing permanent disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate new patients, set goals, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Document evaluations, treatments, and patient interactions daily.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and home activities.
• Communicate with physicians to obtain information and suggest treatment revisions.
• Use rehabilitation equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain productivity and adjust schedule for clinic needs.
• Participate in quality and safety improvement activities.
• Orient and direct assistants and support personnel.

Required profile

• Master's degree in a relevant field (Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy preferred).
• Valid State of Florida Physical Therapist license.
• No prior experience required.
• Demonstrated punctuality, reliability, professional communication, and adherence to policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to operate rehabilitation and durable medical equipment.
