Photo/Metrology Equipment Engineer

About the role

NXP is hiring a Photo/Metrology Equipment Engineer for its ECHO Fab in Chandler, Arizona. The engineer owns several processes and tools in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility, covering sustaining, improvement and expansion of tool performance.

Key responsibilities

• Sustain: lead troubleshooting, manage critical part inventory, direct supplier activities, respond to SPC/FDC excursions, write specifications and train maintenance technicians.
• Improve: run continuous-improvement plans, implement hardware and software upgrades, develop preventative actions to SPC/FDC excursions.
• Expand: increase tool capability, throughput and availability, source new parts and services, and install and qualify new equipment and components.
• Define tool qualification and preventive maintenance procedures, improve tool utilization and availability, reduce cycle time and defectivity, and support development or transfer activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline; mechanical or industrial engineering preferred.
• Experience in photo, metrology or plating tools; manufacturing experience (semiconductor preferred) in process or equipment engineering across toolsets.
• Ability to work with manufacturing and process engineering, troubleshoot equipment, and present complex data to diverse audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to train others and write clear procedures.
• Self-motivated, able to prioritize and lead cross-functional teams; safety and quality mindset.
• Must obtain and maintain an Export Control Clearance.

Required skills

• Root cause analysis, WSS and troubleshooting trees, FDC and advanced analytics, FMEA/DFMEA facilitation, MTBF/MTTR analysis.
• OEE, standard work and 5S, vendor management, cost literacy.
