Photolithography Equipment Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

NXP is hiring a summer 2027 intern in Chandler, Arizona, focused on photolithography equipment. The intern works alongside senior engineers and maintenance technicians on semiconductor products and solutions, with hands-on troubleshooting and factory support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design, development and testing of semiconductor products and solutions.
• Help senior engineers or maintenance technicians with hands-on troubleshooting.
• Support maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance and other routine maintenance.
• Conduct research, data analysis and documentation for ongoing CIP projects.
• Support factory activities such as setting up and running experiments, collecting and analysing data, and interpreting results to reduce factory impacts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Take part in technical reviews and problem-solving discussions.
• Learn and apply industry-standard tools, methodologies and best practices.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and other project documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support engineering initiatives.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Engineering.
• Eagerness for hands-on experience working directly on semiconductor equipment.
• Strong academic record and a genuine interest in semiconductors, electronics or embedded systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proactive attitude, eagerness to learn and attention to detail.
• Must be returning to school or graduating at the end of the internship; graduates before July 2027 should apply to entry-level full-time roles instead.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of statistical process control and Six Sigma concepts.
• Basic understanding of digital and/or analog electronics concepts.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
