About the role

This full‑time night‑shift position supports the laboratory department by performing phlebotomy and specimen processing functions. The role is essential to ensuring timely and accurate patient care across the Baptist facilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct venipuncture and other phlebotomy procedures on patients.
  • Receive, accession, process, and distribute laboratory specimens.
  • Enter and retrieve patient data using computer systems.
  • Resolve specimen‑related issues and adapt communication style to diverse patient populations.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a phlebotomy course is preferred.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Current state phlebotomy license or trainee license preferred.
  • Ability to work the 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. shift and travel between facilities as needed.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and data‑entry keyboards.
  • Knowledge of venipuncture and specimen handling procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication for interacting with patients and staff.
