About the role

The Phlebotomy Technician joins Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus laboratory team, providing accurate blood collection and specimen processing for patients of all ages. The role supports a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment while delivering a calm, reassuring experience for patients who may be anxious about needles.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and other blood‑collection procedures, following proper technique and maintaining log sheets.
  • Verify orders, label specimens, and deliver them to the appropriate processing area.
  • Process specimens, including accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging, and transport samples and lab supplies as needed.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Phlebotomy experience or completion of an accredited phlebotomy program with clinical externship.
  • Ability to work days + on‑call schedule, including early mornings and alternating weekends.

Required skills

  • Phlebotomy techniques (venipuncture, specimen labeling).
  • Specimen processing (accessioning, centrifugation, packaging).
  • Use of standard precautions and personal protective equipment.
