Pharmacy Technician - Oncology

The inpatient pharmacy supports 60 nursing units, operating rooms, PACUs and cath labs, providing a critical link in medication distribution. As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician specializing in oncology, you will ensure timely, accurate medication preparation and delivery to support patient‑focused care.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non‑sterile and sterile compounding.
• Deliver medications to appropriate storage locations accurately and promptly.
• Maintain accurate inventories, perform cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
• Ensure a safe, clean work area by following procedures, documenting temperature logs and regulatory requirements.
• Utilize information systems, technology and automation to complete tasks.
• Assist in training pharmacy caregivers and students.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA.
• Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Understanding of algebraic calculations for extemporaneous compounding.
• Preferred: six months hospital experience, formal pharmacy technician training, compounding or oncology experience.
