Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient Pediatrics (PRN)

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician will support the Inpatient Pediatrics Pharmacy at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. This PRN position works overnight shifts, delivering medications, restocking supplies, and assisting pharmacists in a high‑volume, high‑acuity environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and restock medications throughout inpatient pediatric units.
• Support automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis) and carousel medication distribution workflows.
• Answer phones, manage MAR messages, and assist pharmacists with medication preparation.
• Maintain medication safety, accuracy, and organization during overnight operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA at hire.
• Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee.
• Preferred: completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program and at least six months of hospital experience, especially in pediatrics.

Required skills

• Medication dispensing and preparation.
• Operation of automated dispensing systems (e.g., Pyxis).
• Inventory management and medication cart preparation.
• Repackaging bulk medications.
