Pharmacy Technician – Central Inpatient (Variable Shift)

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician – Central Inpatient supports one of Cleveland Clinic’s highest‑volume inpatient pharmacies, serving multiple service lines such as general care, oncology, sterile products, OR, and pediatrics. The role involves rotating through various operational areas, delivering medications, and using automated systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare medications including selecting, labeling, repacking, non‑sterile and sterile compounding.
• Deliver medications to appropriate storage locations accurately and timely.
• Maintain inventories, conduct cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
• Follow safety, cleanliness, and regulatory procedures, including temperature logs and PPE use.
• Utilize information systems, technology and automation for task completion.
• Assist in training pharmacy caregivers and students.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED.
• At least six months of related experience.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) upon hire and active Ohio Board of Pharmacy registration.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, stretch and sit for prolonged periods.

Required skills

• Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA).
• Medication preparation and compounding.
• Inventory management and audit procedures.
• Use of pharmacy information systems and automation equipment.
