About the role
The Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a motivated intern to support its Occupational Health Surveillance Program. You will help monitor pesticide poisoning incidents across the state and contribute to public‑health education efforts.
Key responsibilities
- Enter pesticide poisoning case report data into the SENSOR‑Pesticide Incident Data Entry Reporting (SPIDER) system.
- Develop and disseminate data reports, educational materials, and resources on acute pesticide‑related illnesses and injuries.
- Assist in creating outreach content for workers, employers, healthcare providers, and the public.
- Participate in additional occupational health surveillance activities as needed.
- Opportunity to prepare conference abstracts and journal manuscripts.
Required profile
- Current public‑health student or recent graduate.
- Completed coursework in epidemiology, environmental/occupational health, or public‑health communication and policy.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience developing public‑health education materials is a plus.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the SPIDER software for data entry and reporting.
