Per Diem Staff Physician – Neurology & Epilepsy

About the role

The UMMG Staff Physician provides medical care to patients, developing comprehensive treatment plans that address biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors. This part‑time, temporary position serves the Neurology and Epilepsy services within the University of Miami Health System.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans addressing biological, psychological, and sociocultural domains.
• Perform physical assessments and prescribe medical treatments and clinical drugs.
• Gather essential patient information through records review and interviews with patients, families, and other health professionals.
• Report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, and quality‑assurance incidents to the responsible physician.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in Medicine (MD) required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Applicable certification and licensing as required by the department.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain patient confidentiality.
