Per Diem Diagnostic Medical Sonographer / Vascular Technologist

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a per‑diem Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Registered Vascular Technologist to perform ultrasound and vascular examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. The position offers latitude for independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative while supporting a nationally recognized health system.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures on various vascular systems, including specialized exams and procedures using advanced imaging equipment.
• Ensure quality control and quality improvement activities, maintain equipment parameters, and assist in revising imaging protocols.
• Produce diagnostic images, obtain appropriate consents, and prepare images for radiologist interpretation.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved CAHEA diagnostic medical sonography program and in good standing with ARDMS.
• Ability to handle confidential medical information ethically and provide excellent customer service.
• Physical ability to lift and carry 40‑50 lb, stand for long periods, and perform patient transfers.

Required skills

• Diagnostic ultrasound and vascular imaging techniques.
• AR​DMS certification (RDMS, RVT, VS, or RT) and Basic Life Support certification.
