People Operations Generalist

About the role

ShipHero is seeking a People Operations Generalist to support its distributed workforce. The role is remote (US‑based) with occasional visits to the Dallas‑Fort Worth warehouse and focuses on consistent, compliant HR practices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage onboarding, employee changes, leave administration and off‑boarding, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
• Maintain HRIS records, prepare reports, track data quality and protect confidential information.
• Coordinate US benefits administration, including eligibility, enrollment, life‑event changes and employee inquiries.
• Partner with payroll to validate employee data, time‑off, deductions and changes for US payroll.
• Support US employment compliance across federal, state and local requirements.
• Guide managers and employees through policies, performance processes and employee‑relations questions.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field.
• 3+ years of HR generalist or People Operations experience handling the full employee lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of US employment compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience administering HRIS records, benefits, payroll inputs and confidential documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, research, organization and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with HRIS platforms such as Rippling or comparable systems.
