Pediatric Clinical Geneticists

About the role

Ochsner Clinic Foundation is seeking board‑certified Pediatric Clinical Geneticists to join its team in New Orleans. Ochsner has been serving the community since 1942 and remains committed to serving, healing, leading, educating and innovating. The role involves providing expert diagnosis, treatment and counseling for children with genetic disorders, with frequent travel to worksites across the New Orleans metropolitan area.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat genetic disorders in pediatric patients.
• Interpret genetic testing results and design personalized treatment plans.
• Develop comprehensive care plans, including complete medical history, physician examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral.
• Confer with consulting physicians, nurses, patients and families concerning treatment and care decisions.
• Travel frequently to worksites throughout the New Orleans metropolitan area as needed.

Required profile

• Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.).
• License to practice medicine in Louisiana.
• Completion of a medical genetics residency.
• Willingness to travel to multiple worksites within the New Orleans region.

Required skills

• Interpretation of genetic testing results.
• Diagnosis and management of pediatric genetic disorders.
