Payment Operations Specialist

About the role

The Payment Operations Specialist will manage Topstep’s daily trader payout process, handling ACH, Wise, wire and Aeropay transactions. The role is part of a transition that brings payout processing in‑house, replacing an offshore team as automation expands.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and execute ACH, Wise and wire batches following runbooks and daily cut‑offs.
• Handle returns, retries and payout exceptions promptly and accurately.
• Operate as a maker only; all batches are reviewed by a checker before release.
• Maintain detailed records to support independent accounting reconciliation.
• Identify and flag anomalies or control gaps immediately.
• Support cut‑over activities as offshore work moves on‑shore.
• Adopt and improve automated workflows, providing feedback on runbooks.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of operations experience in payments, banking or fintech.
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined process orientation.
• Ability to meet firm daily cut‑off times.
• Clear written communication and record‑keeping skills.

Required skills

• Experience with ACH and wire processing.
• Familiarity with Wise or Aeropay platforms.
• Exposure to transaction‑risk‑management (TRM) and batch automation tools.
