Patient Transporter – Neuro Expansion

About the role

Join the Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute and support the care of patients with complex neurological conditions in a brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art facility. As a Patient Transporter you will move patients safely throughout the hospital, ensuring comfort and proper handling of medical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas using wheelchairs, stretchers or beds, including those with oxygen tanks, IV pumps and other equipment.
• Transfer patients between beds, wheelchairs and stretchers, and escort them to the lobby during discharge.
• Verify patient identity by comparing pager information with wristband and chart before transport.
• Check and maintain proper oxygen levels in tanks prior to transport.
• Disinfect and maintain transport equipment, perform safety checks, report any malfunctioning equipment.
• Move and deliver equipment and linen carts throughout the facility.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift/transport 100 lb or more and perform full range of body motions.
• Normal or corrected vision and hearing.
• Willingness to work in an environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases.
• Commitment to follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
