Patient Care Nurse Assistant – Specialty Transplant Unit

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) to join the G101 Transplant Specialty Care Nursing Unit. This 34‑bed unit provides kidney, pancreas, liver, intestine and face transplant surgeries and supportive services to patients and families. The PCNA works rotating day, evening, night and weekend shifts to help deliver world‑class patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under RN supervision, including checking vital signs, weight, and assisting with personal hygiene.
• Perform point‑of‑care testing, dressing changes, apply external monitoring devices, and remove urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal physical, mental or emotional findings to the RN promptly.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician (preferred).

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification (preferred).
