About the role

The Patient Care Nurse Assistant will support the Digestive Disease General Surgery unit on the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus during night shifts. The role involves providing direct patient care under RN supervision for complex abdominal surgery patients.

Key responsibilities

Measure and record vital signs, weight, and perform point‑of‑care testing.
Assist patients with personal care, activities of daily living, and patient transfers/transport.
Perform pulse oximetry, dressing changes, apply external monitoring devices, and remove urinary Foley catheters.
Report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to the RN.
Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms.

Required profile

High school diploma or GED.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must obtain during new‑hire period if not already held).
Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician is considered.

Required skills

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification (preferred).
