Patient Care Nurse Assistant - Digestive Disease General Surgery

The H71 Digestive Disease General Surgery Unit provides complex abdominal surgeries for patients worldwide. This night‑shift caregiver works from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, supporting patients under RN supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care tasks such as vital signs, weight, personal care, activities of daily living, patient transfers, pulse oximetry, point‑of‑care testing, dressing changes, applying monitoring devices, and removing urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the RN.
• Assist in keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained during new‑hire period if not already held).
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician considered.
• Preferred: State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.
• Physical ability to move and lift patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform moderate exertion.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification (preferred).
