Part‑Time Lecturer – Law and Policy

About the role
Northeastern University seeks a part‑time lecturer to teach graduate‑level courses in law, policy, and research methods. The position combines online instruction with a weekend of in‑person engagement each quarter at the Seattle campus.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver 12‑week (Fall, Winter, Spring) or 8‑week (Summer) hybrid courses covering topics such as legal reasoning, public policy theory, and quantitative/qualitative research methods.
- Develop weekly readings, assignments, and multimedia lectures before each term begins.
- Monitor online discussion boards, manage course logistics, grade assignments, and maintain an active online presence.
- Participate in face‑to‑face sessions during the designated weekend each quarter.
Required profile
- Ph.D. or J.D. in a relevant social‑science discipline; a J.D. or LL.M. in addition to a Ph.D. is preferred.
- Demonstrated success teaching graduate‑level courses, preferably in an online or hybrid format.
- Familiarity with doctoral‑level research, adult learners, and action‑oriented research methods.
